Known issues on the 1985 Caprice. Five recalls sit on the federal record for this year. Three of them describe leak paths ending in fire: a replacement oil filter that seals badly and loses oil, a replacement fuel filter whose connection can weep gasoline, and fuel feed and return hoses that can be cut by the pointed end of a radiator shroud screw. A fourth covers a positive battery cable that chafes through its insulation against the control arm or exhaust shield. Five complaints were filed, four of them on tires.
