Known issues on the 2023 4500. Three recalls touch the 2023 4500. Certain 2023 Ram 4500 trucks had a steering column control module that might not be welded properly, which could stop the driver air bag from deploying in a crash. Certain trucks had a module fault that could switch on the high beams with the turn signal, or the reverse, and upset signal self-canceling; a software update and inspection followed. On certain trucks with the 6.7L turbo diesel, the heater grid relay could short and cause a fire, and owners were told to park outside until repaired.
