2012 Ram 4500 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 2012 4500. Nine recalls are on record for the 2012 4500. One involved certain 2012 Ram 4500 trucks whose published torque figure for flanged lug nuts was too high, so over-tightened nuts could snap a stud and free a wheel; dealers corrected it. On certain trucks built during a set window with the optional vehicle information center, a steering wheel harness could chafe against an air bag spring and short, firing the driver air bag unexpectedly. Certain others from a set build window had diesel fuel heater connectors prone to overheating. Of 10 complaints, 5 cite the power train and 5 steering.
