Known issues on the 2014 4500. NHTSA lists 9 recalls for this year. A wiring short on certain 2014 Ram 4500 trucks could keep cruise control engaged even with the brake pressed, holding or raising speed; a control module software flash fixed it. Certain trucks with the 6.7L turbo diesel got Concentric-brand water pumps that had no vent hole that could leak coolant and start an engine compartment fire. Certain others were affected by an incorrect published lug nut torque figure that could break studs. Of 8 complaints, 5 cited the engine, and 1 complaint reported a fire.
