Known issues on the 2022 Outback. Four recalls appear for the 2022 Outback. On certain 2022 Outback vehicles the wrong paint clearcoat may have been applied, leaving the windshield poorly bonded so it could come loose in a crash; Subaru offers an exchange or repurchase. Another, limited to certain 2022 Outback vehicles and covering 15 of them, involved an engine wiring harness that may have been damaged, leaving a loose connection at the engine control unit that risks a stall. Certain cars are also recalled for occupant detection sensors that can short and stop the passenger air bag from firing. Owners filed 463 complaints, 255 about visibility and wipers; 10 complaints reported a crash, 4 a fire and 5 an injury. Body, engine and electrical diagnostics are included.
