Known issues on the 2015 Outback. For the 2015 Outback the federal record shows 5 recalls. On certain 2015 Outback vehicles built in a short production window, an out-of-shape cap sealing the yoke of the propeller shaft could let transmission oil reach the exhaust and start a fire; dealers replace the shaft. Certain examples with EyeSight built within a stated period were recalled because a failed brake light switch disables automatic pre-collision braking. Certain cars from a set build window with a Subaru accessory trailer hitch may have overtightened mounting nuts that could weaken the studs; that campaign covered 56 vehicles. Of 510 owner complaints, 130 involve visibility and wipers and 127 the electrical system; 20 complaints reported a crash, 5 a fire and 13 an injury.
