Known issues on the 2014 Outback. Ten recalls apply to the 2014 Outback. Several are limited to certain 2014 Outback vehicles sold or registered in specified groups of states, some only where a same-design inflator was already fitted under an earlier campaign: the passenger frontal air bag inflator may explode when the bag deploys because its propellant can degrade with humidity and heat cycles, and dealers replace it. Another covers certain cars with a replacement mechanical-key ignition switch that can turn the engine off. Owners filed 208 complaints, spread across air bags (38), the engine (35) and the electrical system (32); 14 complaints reported a crash, 2 a fire and 8 an injury.
