The first covers a missing or improper seal in the driver's side cowl area, which can let water leak in and corrode electrical components, potentially disabling the wiper motor or exterior lighting, disabling the air bags, or allowing the vehicle to be shifted into gear without the brake applied, and can also increase the risk of a fire from an electrical short-circuit. The second covers the left and/or right tie rod, which may bend and break, causing a loss of steering control.
