Known issues on the 2016 Sentra. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two cover the passenger frontal air bag directly: a manufacturing error in the air bag inflator that can keep it from deploying properly in a crash, and a wiring harness connector that can disconnect from the dual-stage inflator with the same result. A related recall covers the front passenger Occupant Classification System, which can misread who or what is in the seat and leave the air bag improperly enabled or disabled for the occupant. A second occupant-classification recall covers a front seat belt bracket that can deform when used to secure a child seat, causing the system to misclassify the restraint. Another recall covers the engine room wiring harness, where an oversized terminal pin can lose connection to the ECU and cause a no-start or stall. The final recall covers the brake light switch, which can become contaminated and keep the brake lights from illuminating. Consequence
In the event of a crash, if the front passenger air bag doesn't deploy properly, it can increase the risk of injury to passengers.
Remedy
