Known issues on the 2013 Sentra. Six recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers a front passenger seat belt bracket that can deform when used to secure a child restraint, causing the Occupant Classification System to misclassify the seat and leave the frontal air bag from switching off as designed. A second covers Occupant Detection System sensors built out of specification, which can permanently suppress the passenger air bag. A third covers electrical system software that can have the same OCS incorrectly read the passenger seat as empty when an adult is sitting in it. A fourth covers an incorrectly installed OCS control unit from a prior repair, causing the same empty-seat misclassification. A fifth covers the OCS again, where the front passenger air bag may not deploy as intended in a crash. The sixth covers the fuel tank assembly: some units built between September and October 2012 were not properly sealed and can leak gasoline when the tank is full, raising fire risk near an ignition source.
