Known issues on the 2018 Jetta. Two recalls are on the federal record for the 2018 Jetta. Certain 2018 Jetta vehicles could have fuel rail bolts that slackened with time and leaked fuel, a fire hazard. Certain cars equipped with an automatic transmission, a manual handbrake and keyless entry could build up silicate on a shift lever switch, allowing the key to be pulled while the lever was out of Park and the car to roll away; dealers added a switch and circuit board. Owners lodged 31 complaints, with air bags and fuel and propulsion at 6 apiece and the power train at 5; one reported a crash.
