Known issues on the 2009 Jetta. The 2009 Jetta carries 6 recalls. On certain 2009 Jetta vehicles with the DSG gearbox, built within a set production window, wires on a transmission temperature sensor that might be poorly crimped could signal false overheating and drop the gearbox into neutral; the control module was reprogrammed. Certain cars with the TDI common-rail diesel, also from a defined build period, could see an injector line crack from resonance and leak fuel. On certain vehicles the ABS control unit could fail during ABS or stability control intervention. Owners lodged 887 complaints, led by the diesel fuel system at 195 and service brakes at 165; 31 reported a crash, 8 a fire and 11 an injury.
