Known issues on the 2017 Silverado 3500. Six recalls are recorded federally. Front seat belt retractors were assembled with the wrong torsion bar, so they may not pay out and lock as intended in a crash. Two cover an engine block heater whose cable or connection can short and set a fire. One dual-tank fault lets the front tank overfill until it swells into the driveshaft; another lets the rear tank collapse so fuel can no longer be transferred forward and the engine stalls. Front air bags may also fail to deploy. Of 139 complaints, 33 name the power train and 29 the service brakes.
