Known issues on the 2006 Silverado 3500. The federal record carries eight recalls. A power steering hose built off specification can fail under a full-lock turn made while braking, taking the assist with it and leaving the wheel heavy. The 8.1L fuel rail pulse damper clip can fracture and let fuel escape. An incomplete rim designation on the certification label can lead an owner to fit a wheel of the wrong size. The remainder are lamps without amber side reflectors and a miswired trailer adaptor. Service brakes take 314 of the 776 complaints, then the electrical system at 73 and the power train at 69.
