2002 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 accounts for four trims, five bodies and four engines. The range runs from a 350-cubic-inch 5.7L gasoline V8 up to the 496-cubic-inch 8.1L, with a 6.0L between them and a turbocharged 6.6L diesel at the working end. Because the same cabs are also sold as cab and chassis, the body and frame material has to describe a truck that may leave the plant without a bed, and the wiring diagrams follow that split too.

Known issues on the 2002 Silverado 3500. The federal record holds eight recalls for this year, and lighting accounts for seven of them: replacement corner, bumper and headlamp assemblies missing the amber side reflectors, and headlamps that put light where the standard does not allow it, either too little to be seen by or enough to distract. The eighth is a wiring fault in a seven-way trailer adaptor that leaves the trailer lamps working incorrectly. Owners have logged 1,656 complaints, 859 of them on the service brakes, then 112 on engine and cooling and 96 on the power train — all systems this manual diagnoses.
