This factory service and repair manual for the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 describes the plainest version of the truck: one engine, the naturally aspirated 5.7L OHV V8 of 350 cubic inches, in a single two-door standard cab pickup body, sold in Base trim alone. Nothing has to be cross-referenced against a second displacement or a longer cab, so fuel, ignition, cooling and emissions procedures apply directly, and the specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics carry on into the chassis, brake and body electrical sections in the same way.

Known issues on the 2007 Silverado 3500. Five recalls stand on the federal record. Two are the same failure counted twice: a passenger frontal air bag inflator using an ammonium nitrate propellant that can rupture on deployment and drive sharp metal fragments into the cabin. Another covers an auxiliary battery fusible link that can melt, touch what sits beside it and damage the electrical center cover and harness conduit. Two more are fire risks — a heated washer module that can ignite, and a ceiling-mounted air conditioner heater element. Complaints number 39, led by air bags at 12.
