2003 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 Service and Repair Manual

Alongside it sit the turbocharged 6.6L diesel and the 8.1L and 5.7L gasoline V8s, across five body configurations from standard cab pickup to cab and chassis, in Base, HD, LS and LT trim, with specifications and torque values set out system by system.

Known issues on the 2003 Silverado 3500. Eight recalls sit on the federal record. Three go beyond lighting: a second-row center belt routed so the lap portion rides up onto the abdomen rather than sitting low on the hips, a windshield bonded without a continuous urethane bead so it may not stay in place in a crash, and replacement wheel hub assemblies that can let a wheel separate. The rest concern lamps sold without amber side reflectors and a miswired trailer adaptor. Complaints total 2,119 — 936 on the service brakes, 396 on the electrical system, 165 on steering.
