Known issues on the 2016 Pilot. Federal records list eight recalls for this model year. Two separate campaigns cover fuel tank leaks - one for tanks that may leak generally and one for tanks built with insufficient welds that can separate - both raising fire risk near an ignition source. A third row seat belt can become trapped between the rear seat and sideliner, leaving occupants improperly restrained. A dashboard fault can keep tire-pressure, ABS or stability-control warning lights from illuminating when a system malfunctions, delaying the driver's warning. A hood latch striker can become damaged and let the hood open while driving, blocking the driver's view. A manufacturing error in the connecting rod bearing can let it wear and seize, damaging the engine and raising the risk of stalling or fire.
