Known issues on the 2011 Pilot. Eleven recalls are on federal record for this model year. Most of them concern the passenger frontal air bag inflator, which can rupture or explode after long-term exposure to heat and humidity and throw metal fragments into the cabin, or which may have been installed incorrectly during a dealer replacement, either way raising the risk of serious injury in a crash. Separate recalls cover front seat belt webbing where incomplete stitching can let the lap belt detach from its anchor, a driver's air bag module missing rivets that could alter how the bag deploys, and front suspension bolts and spindle nuts that may not have been properly tightened, which can result in loss of steering.
