Known issues on the 2012 CTS. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the ignition system: if the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The second covers the power brake booster, built between October 21 and October 26, 2011, where the vacuum boost pushrod retention nut may not have been torqued to specification; a loose nut can let the pushrod separate from the brake pedal, causing a loss of braking ability without warning.
