2004 Cadillac CTS Service and Repair Manual

Six recalls are on federal record for the 2004 Cadillac CTS. The fuel pump module's electrical terminals can overheat and melt the flange, letting fuel leak out and raising the risk of a stall or a fire. A weighted key ring can pull the ignition out of the run position, and in that state the air bags may not deploy in a crash. The front brake hose-to-tube fitting can corrode and rupture, lengthening stopping distance. A wiring interaction with the air bag sensing and diagnostic module can trigger the driver's frontal or roof-mounted side-impact air bag to deploy simply from turning the key to the on position. Front seat anchor tabs that aren't fully engaged in the floor pan can let a seat pivot rearward in a crash. And a lower control arm ball stud nut/washer made from the wrong material can fracture, letting the control arm separate from the steering knuckle and the wheel assembly come loose.
