Known issues on the 2010 CTS. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the ignition system: if the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The second covers the rear suspension, where a wax coating on the toe link jam nuts can allow a nut to loosen, letting the toe link separate so the rear wheel can turn inboard or outboard and the driver may not be able to control the vehicle. The third covers front passenger crash protection on all-wheel-drive and CTS-V models, which failed to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, raising the risk of leg injury in a crash. No complaints or technical service bulletins are logged for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you're inspecting the rear toe link nuts, checking the ignition switch position sensor, or working through a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2010 CTS.
