Known issues on the 2010 Highlander. Eight recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two concern the accelerator pedal: in one, a pedal stuck wide open may result in very high vehicle speeds and make it difficult to stop; in the other, the pedal may become hard to depress or slow to return to idle. A third covers power window devices and controls, where the sliding electrical contacts may not be protected by lubricant. A fourth is a frontal air bag recall against the sensor/control module, in which the front passenger seat occupant sensing system can be out of calibration.
