This factory service and repair manual for the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer adds an Xtreme to the LS, LT and Trailblazer roster without touching the hardware underneath: the same naturally aspirated 4.3-liter gasoline V6 of 262 cubic inches, in the same pair of sport utility bodies with two doors or four. Known issues on the 2001 Blazer. Three recalls are recorded federally, and two of them describe the same failure twice: an open circuit developing in the multifunction switch, after which the stop lamps and rear hazard lamps stop working and nobody behind the truck can tell it is braking. The third concerns seat belt buckle bases that were not properly heat treated and cannot be relied on to hold a load in a crash. Complaints number 339, headed by exterior lighting at 60, then service brakes at 40 and suspension at 38.
