This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Chevrolet Blazer answers a simpler question than most: one engine, the 5.7-liter overhead-valve V8 of 350 cubic inches, naturally aspirated and gasoline-fueled, in one two-door sport utility body, sold as Cheyenne or Silverado. With a single engine in the range, everything in the engine, fuel and emissions sections applies to the truck in front of you, and the remaining volume goes to driveline, brake, steering, frame, body and wiring work.

Known issues on the 1992 Blazer. Six recalls sit on the federal record. A replacement fuel return line can carry a bleed valve tightened below its proper torque, and fuel escapes at that valve. The antilock system's drive-mode switch can malfunction and leave stopping distances longer than they should be during an antilock stop. And a rotor whose steel center is corroded away from its cast outer section can come apart under braking. The complaint record is dominated by the same theme: 214 of 302 concern the service brakes, with 18 on electrical and 11 on visibility.
