This factory service and repair manual for the 1989 Chevrolet Blazer is a two-engine book wrapped around a single two-door sport utility body. Known issues on the 1989 Blazer. The federal record carries four recalls. Three of them attach to service parts rather than to the factory truck: combination lamps supplied without amber side reflectors, a fuel filter whose connection can seal inadequately and let fuel out near an ignition source, and oil filters that can seal badly enough to lose the engine's oil. The fourth is a rotor that can corrode at the seam between its steel center and cast outer ring until the two come apart, taking braking at that corner with them.
