Known issues on the 1994 Altima. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers aftermarket front strut mounts sold as replacement equipment that were missing a weld joint between the bearing housing and rate plate, letting the strut come out of its mounting position under extreme driving and raising crash risk. The second covers aftermarket replacement corner lamps, turn signals, and headlights without amber side reflectors, which can leave the vehicle poorly illuminated. The third covers the passenger air bag, which Nissan redesigned to be less powerful on deployment after reports of moderate-to-severe eye injuries. The fourth covers engine movement that can pull the throttle cable housing out of its guide, which may prevent the throttle from returning to idle. Owners have filed 120 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a throttle-return check to a front strut inspection or routine service, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and correct specification for your specific 1994 Altima.
