Known issues on the 2018 Altima. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the hood's secondary latch, which can corrode and bind in the unlatched position, so if the primary latch releases the hood can fly open while driving and increase the risk of a crash. The second covers the back-up camera display, which can lose its rear-view image and retain that setting the next time the vehicle is put in reverse, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 225 complaints for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you're inspecting the hood latch for corrosion, troubleshooting the back-up camera, or working through a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and correct specification for your specific 2018 Altima.
