This factory service and repair manual for the 1993 Ford Mustang covers four trims, GT, LX, SVT Cobra and SVT Cobra R, on three two-door body styles: hatchback, convertible and sedan. Two naturally aspirated gasoline engines are documented, the 5.0L OHV V8 and the 2.3L SOHC inline-four. With the SVT Cobra and Cobra R sharing the book with the LX and GT, the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics identify which trim a figure belongs to whenever the four differ.

Known issues on the 1993 Mustang. Seven recalls are on federal record, two of them factory defects. A fuel rail was made with an improperly formed tube that could fracture and leak fuel, a fire risk, and the ignition switch could short internally and overheat, with smoke or fire in the steering column. Five more are aftermarket headlamp, corner lamp and turn signal assemblies sold without amber side reflectors. Owners have lodged 132 complaints with NHTSA; the electrical system leads at 34, then air bags at 16 and engine and engine cooling at 13. Fuel rail procedures, ignition wiring diagrams and air bag diagnostics are in the manual.
