Known issues on the 1992 Jetta. NHTSA recorded 2 recalls for the 1992 Jetta. One affected certain 1992 Jetta vehicles whose fuel hose at the distribution rail could contract past the grip of its clamps and let fuel escape in the engine compartment, where an ignition source could start a fire; the hose was replaced and fitted with a self-tightening clamp. Owners lodged 30 complaints, most often about vehicle speed control at 8, then the electrical system and engine and engine cooling at 6 apiece.
