1988 Ford E-250 Econoline Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1988 Ford E-250 Econoline covers Custom and XL trims across three bodies: the standard passenger van, the standard cargo van and the extended cargo van. Under the hood are three gasoline engines, the 5.8L OHV V8, the 5.0L OHV V8 and the 4.9L OHV inline-six. All three are overhead-valve designs, and the manual gives each its own procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics, alongside the chassis, brake, steering and body sections that the three share.

Known issues on the 1988 E-250 Econoline. Nothing on this van was ever recalled. Two owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, one on engine and engine cooling and one on the electrical system. That leaves the manual to its ordinary work on the three overhead-valve engines listed above, with cooling system procedures, charging and starting diagnostics, wiring diagrams and the torque values for the rest of the van's mechanical systems.
