Known issues on the 1983 E-250 Econoline. Six recalls are on federal record for the 1983 model year, and three of them shape how the van gets serviced. Severe-duty underhood temperatures and fuel system pressures could push fuel out of the filler pipe. A diode in the fuel pump circuit could short during engine starting. And the parking gear in the transmission might not engage even with the lever set in park. Two owner complaints are logged with NHTSA, both on tires.
