Known issues on the 1982 E-250 Econoline. Three recalls are on federal record. Ford's own campaign involves a shift rod that can work loose from the retention grommet in the steering column lever assembly. A second covers fuel tank attachment that may fall short of the federal fuel system integrity requirement in a rear barrier impact. The third is an aftermarket recall on replacement fuel pumps that could leak and create a fire hazard. One owner complaint is logged with NHTSA, about the seat belts. Shift linkage adjustment, fuel tank mounting and belt anchorage all have procedures and torque values in this manual.
