Known issues on the 1987 Cavalier. The federal record carries three recalls. One describes water collecting inside the accelerator control cable and freezing while the car sits, so the cable binds when the throttle is first opened and engine speed may not fall back when the driver lifts off. Another covers a parking brake lever that may not hold when it is set, leaving the car free to roll away. The third concerns a replacement fuel filter that can leak at its connection.
