Known issues on the 2005 Cavalier. One recall stands on the federal record, and it was written against a service part: an intermediate steering shaft sold for replacement use, built with a weld that can fail and leave the driver without steering. Owner complaints number 287 and are dominated by the electrical system at 198, with the power train at 15 and the structure at 11 well behind.
