2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier narrows to two bodies, a sedan and a coupe, sold in Base, LS and Z24 trim. Under the hood are two naturally aspirated gasoline inline-fours: a 2.2L overhead-valve engine of 134 cubic inches, available as a bi-fuel unit that also runs LPG, and a 2.4L twin-cam of 146 cubic inches. With the range this tight, most of the manual's volume goes to depth rather than breadth, in full torque tables, wiring diagrams and diagnostic trees for the systems every car of the year shares.

Known issues on the 2001 Cavalier. Six recalls appear federally. The one an owner is most likely to meet is the ignition switch: hold the key at start too long and current heats the switch enough to melt its internals, after which a fire can begin in the steering column with the engine off and the key out. Another covers a replacement fuel pressure regulator built without its sealing ring, which can leak gasoline. The remaining four involve replacement headlamps without amber side reflectors and a steering shaft with a weld that can break. Complaints total 254, with 37 electrical, 34 on the brakes and 28 on steering.
