1998 Chevrolet Cavalier Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1998 Cavalier. Eight recalls are recorded, and three of them end in fire. A replacement pressure regulator was built without its sealing ring and retainer; a replacement pump module left the plant with its vent and return lines swapped; and the ignition switch can melt inside after a long crank and ignite the steering column even with the key removed. Five more cover replacement lamps missing amber reflectors and a steering shaft whose weld can break. Complaints number 384, spread almost evenly across steering at 58, service brakes at 56 and the electrical system at 55, all of which this manual diagnoses.
