1985 Chevrolet Cavalier Service and Repair Manual

This factory service and repair manual for the 1985 Chevrolet Cavalier has two engines to separate rather than one: a naturally aspirated 2.8L overhead-valve V6 of 173 cubic inches and a naturally aspirated 2.0L overhead-valve inline-four of 122 cubic inches, both on gasoline. Either can appear in any of five bodies, convertible, coupe, sedan, wagon and hatchback, and in any of four trims. Known issues on the 1985 Cavalier. Three recalls sit on the federal record, and two of them describe the same hazard: the plastic trim cover on the engine air cleaner can work loose, drop onto the exhaust manifold and start an engine compartment fire while the car is being driven. The third covers a replacement fuel filter that may not seal at its connection, letting gasoline out where an ignition source can find it. Four complaints have been logged, two of them electrical and the rest split between vehicle speed control and the service brakes.
