Known issues on the 1983 Sentra. One recall is on federal record for this model year, covering the windshield wiper: the wiper blade can extend too far and catch on the radio antenna bracket, and an incorrect setting of the wiper arm height above the pivot can damage the connection between the wiper arm and the pivot. Owners have filed 1 complaint for the year and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind that system are here.
From a wiper arm inspection to a routine service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 1983 Sentra.
THE WIPER BLADE MAY EXTEND TOO FAR AND CATCH ON THE RADIO ANTENNA BRACKET. THE CONNECTION OF THE WIPER ARM AND THE PIVOT COULD BE DAMAGED. THE CONDITION IS CAUSED BY AN INCORRECT SETTING OF THE WIPER ARM HEIGHT ABOVE THE PIVOT.
DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, THE WIPER ARM PIVOT WILL BE REPLACED AND THE WIPER STROKE ADJUSTED.
