Known issues on the 2021 Rogue. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year. Abnormal wear inside the fuel pump can cause it to overheat and fail, leading to an engine stall. Rear brake caliper assemblies (addressed in two separate recalls) may be missing an internal bushing, letting the O-ring seal move and brake fluid leak, reducing braking performance. Incorrectly installed wheel nuts may loosen under wheel vibration and cause the wheel assembly to separate from the vehicle. An improperly secured fuel hose may leak or disconnect, risking fire or engine stall. Second-row upper tether wires may be improperly welded to the seatback frame, preventing a child seat from being securely anchored. Two separate recalls cover an infotainment head unit that can reboot and knock out the rearview camera display, cutting rear visibility. Rear seat belts on both sides may fail to retract properly, making them difficult to use. And engine bearings in the VC-Turbo engines may carry manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure and, in the worst case, an engine fire. Owners have filed 284 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a fuel pump or brake caliper inspection to chasing down a rearview camera fault, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2021 Rogue.
