Known issues on the 2014 Rogue. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year. The occupant classification sensor could misread an adult passenger as a child or the seat as empty, disabling the passenger air bag in a crash. Corrosion of the rear liftgate support stays could let them break off suddenly. An incorrect steering column bolt could loosen and fall out, causing loss of vehicle control. The fuel pump was recalled twice for improper nickel plating that can lead the pump to fail and the vehicle to stall without warning. Right-side lug nuts left under-tightened could work loose and lead to wheel separation. Salt and water intrusion at the driver-side floor could short the wiring harness and ignite a fire, a failure mode repeated in a later recall for the under-dash electrical connector. Under-torqued front hub fasteners could let a brake caliper separate from the wheel, cutting braking and steering control. And a jackknife-style ignition key could collapse while driving, shutting off the engine and disabling the air bags. Owners have filed 437 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a fuel pump inspection to a steering column bolt check or a liftgate strut replacement, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2014 Rogue.
