Known issues on the 2021 A6 Quattro. Eleven recalls are on federal record for this model year. Rear seat belt automatic locking retractors can deactivate early and fail to secure a child restraint. A rear axle alignment tied to an earlier recall may not have been re-inspected, leaving misalignment that can cause premature or uneven tire wear. A mis-scored passenger air bag may not deploy properly and can eject plastic debris into the cabin. A detached door-crash-sensor connector can delay side air bag and seat-belt pretensioner activation in a side impact. A rear axle trailing-arm lock nut can break from stress corrosion and misalign the rear axle. A sticking fuel level sender can display an inaccurate reading and lead to an unexpected stall. A software issue can blank the rearview camera display when reversing. Liquid intrusion at the rear seat can shut down the gateway control module and suddenly cut engine power. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap can allow the wrong brake fluid to be used, reducing braking ability. A software error can fail the instrument panel display, hiding the speedometer and warning lights. A separate software error can also prevent the rearview camera image from displaying.
