Rear axle misalignment left uninspected after an earlier repair may cause premature or uneven tire wear, increasing the risk of a crash. An incorrectly manufactured passenger air bag may not deploy properly and could eject plastic debris into the cabin, increasing the risk of injury during a crash. A broken lock nut on the rear axle trailing arm, caused by stress corrosion, may misalign the rear axle, causing a loss of control and increasing the risk of a crash. Moisture entering the starter generator on the mild-hybrid system may cause a short circuit and increase the risk of a fire. A separate passenger air bag may not properly deploy through the instrument panel tear seam, and small plastic parts may enter the cabin, increasing the risk of injury. A sticking fuel level sender may cause an inaccurate fuel reading to display, which can lead to an engine stall from lack of fuel, increasing the risk of a crash. Liquid spilled in the rear seat may penetrate and shut down the gateway control module, suddenly reducing engine power and increasing the risk of a crash. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap may result in the wrong brake fluid being used, which can reduce braking ability and increase the risk of a crash. A software error may prevent the rearview camera image from displaying, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
