Four recalls are on federal record for this model year, three of them concerning the passenger frontal air bag inflator module: propellant degradation can cause the inflator to explode or rupture, sending metal fragments into the vehicle occupants and risking serious injury or death. The fourth covers the power rear lid, where a strut losing pressure can be misread by the closing software as a manual close command, triggering an unintended rapid closing of the lid with a risk of personal injury.
