Known issues on the 2017 RAV4. Two recalls stand on the federal record for this model year, both filed by regional distributors. Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) recalled certain 2017-2019 Toyota vehicles, the RAV4 among them, equipped with factory-installed floor mats, an equipment labeling defect: an incorrect label may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle. Gulf States Toyota, Inc. recalled certain 2017 Toyota vehicles including the RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid over the temporary/emergency spare tire, where a spare tire that is not inflated to the proper value may not perform as intended. Beyond those two, owners have filed 406 complaints against the 2017 RAV4 and 126 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
