Known issues on the 2016 RAV4. Two recalls sit on federal record for this model year. The first concerns tires: an incorrect label may result in the vehicle being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash. It was issued by Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC and applies to certain 2016 RAV4 units alongside several other Toyota and Scion models. The second came from Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing against the hydraulic service brakes and the antilock and traction control system, on certain RAV4s manufactured October 30, 2015 to February 3, 2016, where insufficient brake fluid pressure may cause a loss of vehicle control. Owners have filed 289 complaints against the 2016 RAV4 and Toyota has issued 138 technical service bulletins for it.

Whether the job is a brake fluid pressure check, verifying a load rating against the actual build, or servicing the hybrid drive on a Hybrid XLE or Hybrid Limited, the procedure and the specification are Toyota's own for this 2016 RAV4.
