Known issues on the 2015 Avalon. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year, and both name the Avalon and the Avalon Hybrid. One covers the air bag/restraint control module: during certain crashes, air bags and/or seat belt pretensioners may not deploy as intended. The other covers the crash imminent braking function of the forward collision avoidance system on Avalon and Avalon Hybrid vehicles manufactured October 19, 2012 to October 27, 2015, where a vehicle that unexpectedly brakes increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA lists 63 owner complaints for the year, and Toyota has issued 149 technical service bulletins.
