This factory service and repair manual for the 2009 GMC Yukon XL 1500 covers three naturally aspirated overhead-valve V8s, two of which take ethanol blends: the 364-cubic-inch 6.0L runs on gasoline, the 325-cubic-inch 5.3L on flex-fuel or gasoline, and the 376-cubic-inch 6.2L on flex-fuel. Known issues on the 2009 Yukon XL 1500. Five recalls stand on the federal record for this model year. Three concern frontal passenger airbag inflators that can burst on deployment and scatter metal fragments inside the vehicle. A fourth covers a heated washer fluid module that can ignite after an internal short. The fifth is a fuel system control module whose sealant could separate from the housing, letting water reach the circuit and leaving the engine hard to start, stalling or dead. Of 212 owner complaints, 86 concern airbags, 26 the structure and 15 the electrical system, and the restraint, fuel control and wiring diagnostics here address all three.
