2001 GMC Yukon XL 1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2001 GMC Yukon XL 1500 has two gasoline V8s to account for: the 5.3L of 325 cubic inches and the larger 6.0L of 364 cubic inches, both overhead-valve designs running naturally aspirated. The body remains a single 4-door sport utility, but three trims sit on top of it, Denali, SLE and SLT, and the equipment differences between them run through the electrical and interior chapters. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are laid out system by system for both engines.

Known issues on the 2001 Yukon XL 1500. Five recalls sit on the federal record for this model year. One covers fuel module wiring whose connectors could overheat, blowing the pump fuse and leaving the engine to stall or refuse to start. Another concerns loose or missing rear wheelhouse plugs that let exhaust gas work forward into the cabin. A third addresses unwanted antilock activation that stretched stopping distances at low speed, mostly on salted roads. Owners submitted 396 complaints, 148 of them about the service brakes, with 33 more on the parking brake and 27 on tires, which puts the brake hydraulic, antilock and fuel delivery sections here to work.
