2009 Ford Crown Victoria Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2009 Ford Crown Victoria is for the four-door sedan in four trims, Fleet, LWB, LX and Police Interceptor, powered in every case by the naturally aspirated 4.6L single overhead cam V8 on flex-fuel or gasoline. The procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics cover that engine and its fuel system and then the steering column, brakes, suspension, power train and electrical circuits of the car. With one engine listed, the fuel system section applies to every car, and the steering column procedures are the ones this year's recall record points to.

Known issues on the 2009 Crown Victoria. Two recalls are on federal record for the 2009 Crown Victoria, both in the steering column: the upper intermediate shaft can separate if it was serviced improperly, and the lower column bearing on cars from certain states can come apart, either of which can cost the driver steering control. Owners have filed 44 complaints with NHTSA, with steering at 17, the fuel system at 11 and the power train at seven. The steering column procedures and torque values, the fuel system diagnostics and the transmission section of this manual are where those complaints lead.
